Bio
I initially started off in music with the intention of being the best guitar player ever. I thought that studying jazz at Leeds College of Music would be a good start and I’m still extremely proud to be able to say that I graduated with a first class honours. That being said, I soon realised that I sadly don’t live in 1950s New York so continued my studies to learn a bit more about other parts of music, graduating from the same institute with a first class honours from their creative musician masters course. During my time studying and since I graduated I’ve been performing and recording pretty much all the time with the bands that I’m in; Talkboy, Fizzy Blood and most recently, Ophelia.
I feel so privileged to have gained so much experience from the exceptional places and people I have met. I have been able to record at studios such as Maida Vale, The Motor Museum (Liverpool) and Brighton Electric with people like Alex Newport (Block Party, At The Drive In, The Mars Volta) Lee Smith & Jamie Lockhart (Easy Life) Mickey Dale (Embrace) and James Motershead (Sundara Karma, British Sea Power). This has been the best education I could ever dream of.
I now work from a studio called The Green Room in Leeds and have been continually spoilt by the number of amazing artists that come through the door - many of whom feature on the home page of this site. We have a wonderful selection of equipment from Neve, API, Trident, Neumann, Coles and many, many more. I feel extremely fortunate to be able to call such a place my home from home and I’m sure you’ll love it too.
As you may have noticed, my production credits vary a fair amount as I have been in bands which we try to keep as democratic as possible and share out the blame / credit. This being said, productions I have worked on have been included on some of the biggest Spotify playlists such as New Music Friday, Hot New Bands, The Rock List, The Indie List and more. My music has also made it onto Radio 1, Radio 6 music, Radio X and been played on a variety of TV programmes.
